Sew Mama Sew Giveaway day!

Woohoo! Today's the day! It's Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day! As always, I'm jumping on the giveaway train. After you're done here, you'll want to jump on over to the Sew Mama Sew blog & see what else is up for grabs. I certainly plan to! I haven't won anything the last two go arounds, so maybe this time I'll get lucky. There's always a ton of fun goodies to be had.
This year, I'm so excited to be able to offer you up a copy of the new Craft it Now book by F&W Publishing. As you can read here, I'm so honored to be included as a contributor to this fun book. (page 32 to be precise!) If you want, I'll even sign the book for the winner. Not that my signature is worth a dime! HA! in fact, if you'd rather I not mess the book up with my autograph, I'll be happy to oblige.
There will be some extra handmade crafty goodies added to the package you win! But how do I win this awesome prize, you ask? A great question! Just leave me a comment below telling me who first instilled the love of crafting in you.... make sure I have your email! If you are a no reply commenter and you don't leave me your email address I'll have to draw another name. That would be so sad! I'll draw a winner at the end of the day this Friday, May 16.  If you are a follower of my blog (old or new!) leave a second comment for a second chance to win. I'll be happy to ship worldwide.

So what are you waiting for? Comment away!
Comments are now closed. Giveaway has ended. thanks for stopping by!

My mother got me started with crafting and quilting. In fact, I ended up learning to quilt so I could finish a quilt she started for me and never finished!

I think I was influence by both my mother and father. Mom sewed all my and my sister's school clothes while still having three more preschoolers at home. And my dad was the consummate tinkerer and fiddler, leading me not to be afraid to dig into something new. I am afraid that in my younger (and older, now that I think of it) I've probably taken apart more things than got put back together, some in unusual ways!

My mom was a seamstress, so I grew up around fabric scraps, and that lovely sound of pinking shears cutting into fabric. (I LOVE that sound). But I think the person who was most influential to me, was my grandmother. She had tons of buttons and yarn, and made dolls, and crocheted tablecloths and doilies. I was always in awe of her and the things she created. I hope my kids look at me like that. :)

Thanks for the awesome giveaway

Definitely my Grandma. She was the first person to really say to me that I had talent. And you know, as a child, that is like food for the soul. She always encouraged me and loved everything I made.

Oh it was my MOM for sure - she could make something out of nothing - great way to learn to do things with not much..
An autographed book would be wonderful...
Such an exciting giveaway.
Thanks for the chance.

I definitely learned my love of crafting from my mom - she made us awesome halloween costumes from scratch!

I am not sure who inspired me - my family is a bunch of quilters but I never took that route (I like smaller projects instead).

If I win, totally sign the book - you deserve to feel famous! :)

I'm not sure who it was. I started pretty early! Maybe my mom. Maybe a teacher. I've had a lot of good teachers over the years.
