Giveaway day is here!

update: the giveaway is now closed. Congrats to Brandi, #250, my winner! Thanks to all who played along.

Today is the day we've all been waiting for! It's Sew Mama Sew's Giveaway day!
If you found your way here from the Sew Mama Sew blog, welcome! I hope you'll come back again soon. If you're a regular ellyn's place visitor/follower/friend, bet you're glad you stopped by today. I'm always happy to have you.

What's that? Get on with it, you say? Oh, right... the giveaway! How's this...
If you dropped by over the weekend, you saw that I've been crocheting dishcloths. They are yummy 100% cotton yarn, perfect for cheering up your dishwashing duties (and they're green. so if perhaps dishwashing is hubby's job, he won't object to the color, right?). I added in two kitchen towels with a bit of patchwork to make you (or the kids) smile while the dishes are being dried.

I'm pretty sure there will be some other little surprises that will make their way into the package too! And I'll be happy to ship it anywhere in the whole wide world...

All you have to do is leave me a comment on this post by this Friday, May 25. Tell me who does the dishes in your house. Or, what you're cooking for dinner tonight. Or anything you want (you can just say "pick me pick me" no guarantees though). If you want to click "follow" on my sidebar that would be awesome too! It won't help you in the giveaway, but it'll help you find your way back here when the madness is over. I will use the handy dandy random number generator to pick a winner on Saturday... oh, make sure I have a way to contact you. If I pick a no-reply-blogger with no email I'll have to choose someone else. That would be sad!

My husband usually does the dinner dishes because he doesn't cook. He likes green so we'll both love these! Thanks for a cheerful giveaway!

I've been on a crochet dishcloth kick too recently - so much so that my daughter asked why. My answer? I can crochet dishcloths without my glasses LOL! Anyway, yours are beautiful and I love the green. I just became a follower (I thought I was already a long time ago actually!)

Anyway, congrats on your finished family room. Love the ottoman. It would be my favorite thing too. And the table runners are gorgeous. (My, you've been busy!)

And, just to let you know I'm serious, I'll say, "Pick me! Pick me!"

These cloths are wonderful. Whoever doesn't cook does the washing around here. We have been renovating the kitchen since the day after Easter so I'm actually ready to start cooking again.

I just had a baby and I'm spending most of my time nursing her, so my husband is picking up the slack with housework. Of course, a dishwasher helps make it not so much of a chore! Thanks for the giveaway!

How pretty! Me and my mom do the dishes around our house. And for dinner, I had tuna fish and chips :)

Dh does about 90% of the dishes...it's my least favorite household chore and he doesn't mind. Love him!

Thanks for the chance to win!

Oh, those are gorgeous! I'm curious about crocheted dishwashing cloths - I hear good things about them. Sadly, I'm often the one who does the dishes. My partner leaves them piling up until he has 'enough' to wash, by which point I've already done them. Argh!

What a great set and lovely giveaway! in my house (three college/grad students home here and there) If the kids are not home my husband does dishes as he does not like to cook! I cook and he cleans! Kids help when they are home - if they do not help with the cooking! thanks! p.s. our dinner tonight was homemade pizza.

Melle@featheredruffles.com said...

I do the dishes usually. And we LOVE crocheted cloths! I have a set of fingertip size ones for my face that I adore.

For dinner tonight? Potato soup, and grilled ham and cheese sammies. Yum!

I mostly do the dishes, except on Sundays when my 11 year old son does them. Thank you for the giveaway!

I always wash up (which I HATE) and my partner puts the dishes away. Occasionally if I have a busy, tiring day he'll do them though :)

Breanna S. said...

my hubby does the dishes all through the school year but when school is out they are all on me. Of all the house chores dishes are at the bottom of my list.

CMG said...

I just LOVE this set of dish cloths. Both hubby and I would be using them, we get to share dish duty. As for dinner - maybe a little pasta with olive oil and garlic, simple & delicious.

The dishes are a chore no one enjoys in our house. We kind of take turns, between my husband and me, but we both dislike it. After getting used to having a dishwashing machine for years, we now live without one and it has been a bit of a shock to the system. Also I enjoy cooking, so many dirty dishes are produced per day!

Leo said...

dinner is way past .. and the dishes usually me - if I'm alone I sometimes eat the soup out of the pot so I don't have to do more than nescessary ...

Tania said...

My husband, two kids (ages 12 & 14) and myself take turns doing the dishes. Loving the colors you used on the dish towels.

Tiffanie said...

I do the dishes, but my husband often unloads the dishwasher for me because he knows I don't like it.

Marcia R said...

My dishwasher does the dishes, but I help it out a little. I don't think my 19-year-old daughter knows how the dishes get from the sink back into the cupboard all nice and clean.

VickiT said...

Ooh I would dearly love to win this set, especially the dishcloths. Someone made me crocheted dishcloths a number of years ago and they finally wore out. I LOVED them so much but, that person died and I do not know how to crochet. She also crocheted with tulle square pot scrubbies that I absolutely loved and those I miss even more I think. They were amazing and the open weave meant I was able to rinse them really well so they could remain cleaner than others you can buy.

Because of my knees, my amazing husband does the dishes most often but I do try to do as many as I can myself as well. Of course, he gets a little upset with me because it hurts me to stand in one place and doing dishes isn't a job you can really do while moving. LOL Many times he points out of the kitchen and tells me to get back to my sewing room where my computer is and takes over for me.

Supper tonight is one hubby looks forward to because it's one of his favorite things. It's really supposed to be an appetizer but I saw nothing wrong in making them for supper too. All my boys used to ask me to make them all the time too. It's Cranberry Meatballs which I decided could be cooked in the crockpot much more easily and the flavor would penetrate the meatballs much more that way rather than the hour in the oven.

Two of my boys and the one's fiancee (and my Granddaughter yay) are actually coming over tomorrow so they will be thrilled to find out I made these for supper since there are tons leftover normally.

Thank you for the chance to win these.

I like to do the morning dishes by hand. Nothing like a sink full of warm, sudsy water! I watch the birds at the feeder through the window over my sink. Really a nice way to start the day! These are lovely cloths and go very nicely with my kitchen's color theme!

I do my dishes and my roommate does hers. Tonight I made scrambled eggs (with onions, mushrooms, spinach, and cheese) - cooking for one leads to a lot of one-pot meals.

My husband and I split the dish washing duties, but he's a food writer so does 99 percent of the cooking. I'm lucky! Your dishclothes are lovely. I just learned how to knit, so I definitely now appreciate the work that goes into crochet and knit items now!

My husband does the dishes every night - honest :) I cook and he cleans, it works well :)

I love the green! I do the dishes around here, and I cook, too. Way back in the beginning I didn't care about the "one who cooks doesn't clean up" rule, but now I do! I think it's too late, though. Thanks for the giveaway!
