Giveaway day is here!

update: the giveaway is now closed. Congrats to Brandi, #250, my winner! Thanks to all who played along.

Today is the day we've all been waiting for! It's Sew Mama Sew's Giveaway day!
If you found your way here from the Sew Mama Sew blog, welcome! I hope you'll come back again soon. If you're a regular ellyn's place visitor/follower/friend, bet you're glad you stopped by today. I'm always happy to have you.

What's that? Get on with it, you say? Oh, right... the giveaway! How's this...
If you dropped by over the weekend, you saw that I've been crocheting dishcloths. They are yummy 100% cotton yarn, perfect for cheering up your dishwashing duties (and they're green. so if perhaps dishwashing is hubby's job, he won't object to the color, right?). I added in two kitchen towels with a bit of patchwork to make you (or the kids) smile while the dishes are being dried.

I'm pretty sure there will be some other little surprises that will make their way into the package too! And I'll be happy to ship it anywhere in the whole wide world...

All you have to do is leave me a comment on this post by this Friday, May 25. Tell me who does the dishes in your house. Or, what you're cooking for dinner tonight. Or anything you want (you can just say "pick me pick me" no guarantees though). If you want to click "follow" on my sidebar that would be awesome too! It won't help you in the giveaway, but it'll help you find your way back here when the madness is over. I will use the handy dandy random number generator to pick a winner on Saturday... oh, make sure I have a way to contact you. If I pick a no-reply-blogger with no email I'll have to choose someone else. That would be sad!

  1. I would love, love, love to win this set! They are so pretty! I usallly fall short and never get anything made for myself, so it would be nice to have something handmade. Of course, I'm not actually the one who does the dishes in the house (my husband does), but still... :)

  11. My husband usually does the hand-dishes in the evening, but if we eat too late or something, then they fall to me the next day.

    ReplyDelete
  12. My retired husband generally does the dishes. I practice being grateful nearly every day even when he does them differently than me.

  13. we will have vegetable soup with bits of ham for dinner and of course freshly baked bread

  14. Hrm. Well, my husband and I switch off - one of us does the dishes and the other does bedtime with our son. It's a happy medium. And for dinner tonight? It's "Meatless Monday" so I'm thinking we'll probably have pancakes. Pancakes are always a big hit for dinner. :-)

  15. We do have to hand wash dishes in our house. I miss having a dishwasher, lol. But I only have to do dishes when everyone else is away. Otherwise it is the mother in law's job to do dishes. I do the cooking.
Thank you for the chance to win these.

  16. The dish towels are really nice. We do have a dishwasher and most nights my husband cleans up the kitchen, including hand wash items. Got to love a man with a servant's heart.

    ReplyDelete
  22. What a sweet set! They'd look great in our new house. The house we're selling has a dishwasher but the one we'd like to buy does not. The deal in our house is that when I cook, my husband cleans up and vice versa. Since I do most of the cooking, he's insisting that we get a dishwasher at that house ASAP...

    ReplyDelete
  23. Love the color combo, such pretty fabrics:)
Lol at our house the dishwasher does the dishes...except for the toddler's sippy cups those fall to whomever is unlucky enough to discover the few we use are dirty! Little man is switching to real cups so we're cutting down:)

    ReplyDelete
  24. In my house, the dishes are bit contentious. Sometimes I do the washing up, sometimes he does the washing up, and sometimes...his mother does the washing up. I'm not proud of it at all but sometimes it's just what happens!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I do the dishes most of the time but my husband does help out(he is a work in progress...ha!). The towels are just lovely. Thanks for the chance. Smiles~Beth

  26. I wash the dishes...all by hand. Our new (to-us; it's actually almost 100 years old) house doesn't have a dishwasher. We are going to get a portable one once we save up a little bit more money. For now, washing dishes takes up a big chunk of my time!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I wash all the dishes by hand. It is the one chore my husband pretty much refuses to do, and we don't have a dishwasher!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I do the dishes, but yesterday, I made my 8yo dry them and she said "Why do you make me do ALL the work!?" So I told her if she complains again she can wash them, too. :)

    ReplyDelete
  29. We take turns on dishes, but my turn comes up most often, thanks for a chance at such cheery cloths!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. We have an agreement at our house that whoever cooks doesn't have to do the dishes, so my husband does them pretty much all the time.

    ReplyDelete
  59. How cute!

My husband and I have an unspoken agreement. If I do the dishes and the kitchen, he will clean everything else. Which works for us. He can clean our house from destroyed (like really DESTROYED) to presentable enough for my grandma (which is CLEAN) in 20 minutes TOPS. It would literally take me all day to do that. I'm not sure what we do differently.

    ReplyDelete

  145. Omigosh these are NOT green and grey!!! I am in the middle of painting and redecorating my kitchen...green walls!! These would SO totally match in there it's as if you made them for me personally. So pretty. We have a dishwasher, so everyone is responsible for rinsing and putting their own dishes in, then we sort of take turns emptying it. I still wash my grandson's little dishes and spoons and the bigger bowls by hand though.
Thank you for the awesome giveaway...I will keep my fingers crossed!

  154. Such pretty towels and dish clothes! I rent a couple rooms in my sister and her husband's house and generally speaking we don't cook together (I eat mostly vegetarian, they're very meat and potatoes), so we each mostly do our own dishes! Sometimes I do some of hers and sometimes she does some of mine, but largely we do our own.

  167. I do the dishes and have not had an electric dishwasher for 20 years. Much of the time, I find dish washing a bit meditative. Now having new dish cloths would certainly cheer me up. I do put my kids to work when they stop by to share a meal so they would get a chance to use the beautiful dish towels.

Thank you for the opportunity to win!

  178. if by "wash the dishes" you mean load the dishwasher... i do that. however if dishes get washed by hand it is done by my mother in law because she doesn't believe in waiting on a dishwasher load to finish washing before loading the rest of the dishes into the machine! she's old fashioned like that!
